Four cases open

Somebody missed something.

Every case here is a free murder mystery to solve online: a box of evidence with police reports, statements, letters, receipts, maps and the loose end the first investigation left. Read it closely, open the sealed files, then name the killer and prove it.

Play alone or with up to five friends in a shared room. No sign-up form: pick a nickname and start reading. Add an email later only if you want to sign in on other devices.

The case library

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Read the closed file

File 1 is the case as it was left when the investigation stopped. Every exhibit is a real-looking document. Small details carry weight, so read all of it.

  2. Step 2

    Break the seals

Files 2 and 3 open only when you answer a gate question from the evidence. A wrong answer costs points. If you are stuck, Sherlock Holmes offers hints, each with its price shown first.

  3. Step 3

    File your verdict

One vote in five parts: who did it, how, why, the period during which the guilty person’s own account is false, and the two exhibits that prove it. Then you see the full solution, your rank and how everyone else voted.

Why it is free, and why it is fair

Free. Tifa writes the cases and publishes them without a paywall. Nothing is for sale inside a case, and the site carries no advertising and no analytics trackers. The only cookie keeps you signed in to your own progress, and you can delete your data at any time.

Fair. Each case is written so that the evidence alone is enough to reach the answer, without outside knowledge or a lucky guess. The solution is fixed before you open the file and kept on the server, never hidden in the page. Hints show their price first, and the same rules apply to every player.
